Taking care of your website

November 21, 2017

Very often, business owners or commercial activity holders think their investment on the Web is complete with a website (perhaps made in flash, arghh!!) and a Facebook fan page. Is that all? No way! To gain notoriety and success on the internet today, that’s not enough. First of all, you need to take care of your website with fresh and updated content; web popularity is achieved by regularly posting content that is interesting and useful to readers.

Consequently, links to your site will also come without you explicitly asking for them. And these are the links that Google values the most. Don’t have time to write on your site? No excuses. It’s just a lack of motivation, like mine. Today there are web platforms like WordPress, Joomla, Blogspot, etc., that make it easy to add content to promote a blog or an artisan shop. Not Shakespeare or Manzoni? No worries. The web helps you with that too. There are many online services like textMaster that sell quality articles and content for web pages. Need to translate your site into a foreign language and not confident with English? In this case too, there are plenty of online translation agencies like traduzione.it or traduciamo.it, or even free reciprocal translation exchange services like cocumis.it. And then you need to let others know and position your “brand identity” high, as those who speak in refined languages say. For this, a website alone is not enough; you need to complement it with a whole range of activities, applications, and knowledge in the field of web marketing. It’s essential to have your business present on the main social networks. Not just Facebook and Twitter!! But also Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn. And social media for sharing videos and images like YouTube, Instagram, Vimeo, Flickr. And here too, the rule “content is king” applies: content is king. For the internet world, the more specialized you are on a particular topic, the better. Talk about it in all its infinite variations. And even when it comes to the search for words (keywords), rely on those most relevant to your area of interest. Maybe even with phrases constructed with not entirely correct logical analysis, maybe even with a deliberately misspelled word: Google will reward you. It’s the so-called “long tail” theory. In a market as crowded as the internet, the niche sector often emerges and wins.
